GU Cancer Update

Erin McCormick, PharmD, BCOP, is a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist at Prisma Health Cancer Institute in Columbia, SC. She has over two years of experience as a genitourinary clinical specialist at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. At Prisma Cancer Institute, she practices as a general medical oncology specialist in their expansion of clinical pharmacy services in the Midlands.

New Drug Update

Lauren Dietz, PharmD, MSPS,is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Outpatient Malignant Hematology at the Medical University of South Carolina Hollings Cancer Center. She completed PGY1 and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency training at MUSC after earning her PharmD and Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences degrees from the University of Kentucky. Her clinical interests include leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, hematopoietic cell transplantation, supportive care, and implementation of novel therapies in malignant hematology.

GynOnc Update

Jennifer MacDonald, PharmD, BCOP, is an oncology pharmacy specialist at Hollings Cancer Center in Charleston, South Carolina. She is currently serving as the residency program director for the oncology residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina and is an oncology clinical specialist in gynecologic oncology. Dr. MacDonald is heavily involved in the treatment of patients with gynecologic oncology. She loves advocating for the essential role of oncology pharmacists and inserted herself into leadership roles within the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. She is an active member of HOPA and passionate about her job, research work, and leadership roles. In her spare time, you’ll find her chasing her 3 children and enjoying trips with her husband.

Carmen Faulkner-Fennell, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Infectious Disease / Antimicrobial Stewardship at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC.  She graduated from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy and completed her post-graduate Pharmacy Practice residency and Infectious Disease residency at Wake Forest University Medical Center.

Megan May, PharmD, BCOP, FHOPA, FAPO received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama.  She then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center and a Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.  She is a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist.

Dr. May provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients at Baptist Health Lexington’s Cancer Center as a Clinical Oncology Pharmacy Specialist.  Teaching activities include precepting students and residents on an ambulatory oncology rotation, and participating in the therapeutics curriculum. She was awarded University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy’s Preceptor of the Year award in 2020.  Dr. May also has received the Kentucky Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ New Practitioner of the Year 2015 award, the 2019 New Practitioner of the Year award from the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association, and the honor of being named one of the “40 under 40 in Cancer Care”.
